Winona Laura Horowitz professionally known as Winona Ryder was born in Winona Minnesota. The name of her parents was derived from the town she grew up in. The father of her Michel Horowitz and her mother Cynthia Palmer were authors and editors. Ryder is a Jew. Ryder believes that her father came from an ethnically Jewish origin. Uria is Ryder's younger sister. Jubal, Sunyata and Sunyata are the half siblings of Ryder. At the age of seven, Ryder was only seven her family moved from Mendocino County, California. Mendocino County California. They was in a house that didn't have electric power. Ryder was a consummate bookworm and would spend her days reading books because she had no television. In 1983 when she was twelve, Ryder enrolled in the American Conservatory Theatre to take acting classes. Lucas was released in 1986.
