Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine is a mercurial artist and songwriter who mixes folk gospel, soul and R&B in her signature blend. The singer has worked everywhere from Broadway up to the Democratic National Convention to the European music scene and the club scenes. Sunshine is Denise White. She hails from Chester Pennsylvania, where she began her music career performing on the piano as well as singing at church. In Atlanta she attended Spellman College where her musical learning began. She was a part of Atlanta's R&B Scene. The Fighting Temptations The single that featured her vocals,"Stalk You a House 12 came out only in Japan. It's been remixed numerous times and it is a mainstay in her live performance. The voice of hers was featured on the soundtrack to The Fighting Temptations. She was named the sole keyboardist in Tyler Perry's play Meet the Browns in 2005. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy- and Tony Award winning vocalist who had worked on the stage production Dreamgirls in the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, was approached to become the leader of the choral group for this theatrical production. Sunshine was brought to the attention of the nation during the four shows per day of 2008's Democratic National Convention. Sunshine followed up with being asked to sing in the presence of the President Barack Obama at his inauguration.
